Detox Your Body, Relieve Pain,
& Rejuvenate Your Skin
Infrared saunas use light therapy to safely penetrate your skin, tissues, and muscles reaching approximately 1.5 inches below the skin allowing your core temperature to slowly increase inducing a healthy sweat.
About
-
Detoxification: The heat causes water molecules and fat cells to break down resulting in a release of toxins and other materials that then exit your body through sweat.
-
Immune Health: The heat stimulates energy at a cellular level which increases the body’s production of white blood cells. These cells act as your immune system’s first line of defense against health threats.
-
Circulatory Health: The heat encourages blood vessels widening, increasing blood flow as well as increasing the heart rate much like moderate exercise such as walking at a brisk pace. This also improves blood pressure and boosts heart health.

FAQs

What should I expect at my session?Upon arriving at the clinic, you will be warmly welcomed by your colon hydrotherapist. If you haven’t completed an intake form online beforehand, you will be asked to fill one out before your session. The therapist will review your form and health history before your session to ensure there are no contraindications for the colonic. Next, the therapist will guide you on how to position yourself on the colonic bed and self-insert the rectal nozzle, and you will be provided the privacy to settle in. Once you’re ready, the therapist will return to the room to begin the session. Warm, filtered, sanitized water will be gently introduced into your colon. You may feel gentle pressure as your body naturally prepares to release waste, similar to the sensation of using the toilet. Sessions typically last around 40-45 minutes, but please allow a minimum of 60 minutes for your visit. You are welcome to bring a book to read or simply relax during the session. The experience is designed to be very gentle and calming, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout.
-
Is a colon hydrotherapy session sanitary?Yes, a single-use disposable nozzle is used for each session. The water is thoroughly filtered through a carbon filter and treated with ultraviolet light to eliminate any microorganisms before it enters your body. Before and after each session, the colonic bed and all room surfaces are disinfected using medical-grade sanitizing cleaners.
-
Will I smell anything during the session? No, each device has an odor exhaust system ensuring that each session as well as the entire clinic is completely odor free.
-
Is it messy? No, the design of the LIBBE device allows all expelled fecal matter to easily move down through the waste line.
-
What should I wear?During the session, you will remove any clothing from the waist down; therefore, we suggest wearing clothing that is comfortable and loose. A disposable sheet will be provided for your privacy.
-
What should I expect after my session? Most people feel light and energized after their session. You can resume normal activities right away, but it’s recommended to avoid strenuous exercise until any residual water and loosened waste have been eliminated. A small number of individuals may experience mild nausea or discomfort, which is usually due to the movement of toxins in the intestines as the session works to cleanse the system. To minimize this, it’s recommended to drink plenty of water afterward to help flush out the toxins. Additionally, it's best to avoid caffeine, alcohol, or sugary drinks for the remainder of the day.
-
How many sessions are advised? The recommended number of treatment sessions can vary depending on individual symptoms. In general, it's recommended to start with 3 sessions: 2 sessions on consecutive days, followed by a 3rd session one week later. This will help get a thorough cleanse of the colon and afterward, a maintenance session every 1 to 3 months is advised. For individuals with more complex symptoms, severe constipation, or looking for a full gut reset, 10 to 12 sessions are suggested. This involves 2 sessions on consecutive days in the first week, 2 sessions on consecutive days in the second week, and then 1 session per week for the following 6 to 8 weeks. Afterward, a maintenance session every 1 to 3 months is advised.

What system do you use?Harmony Health Colonics utilizes the LIBBE device which is an FDA Class II Medical Device. It is an Open System Colon Irrigation device. This system uses a small disposable nozzle that is self-inserted. It is inserted into the rectum about 1 inch to 1.5 inches and is about the diameter of a pencil. Pressure, temperature, and water flow are all regulated throughout the session. The water is filtered through a carbon filter and purified through an ultraviolet water purification system. The LIBBE Device allows for optimal comfort, safety, and client dignity.
-
Are colonics a new type of therapy? No, the first record mentioning colon hydrotherapy dates back to ancient Egyptian medical documents from 1500BC. The most recent history lies with the United States from the early 20th century where colonic irrigation was remarkably popular. During the 1920s and 1930s, enemas were a standard practice among physicians and implemented as a common treatment in most hospitals.

When would one not want to get a colonic? There are certain circumstances in which colon hydrotherapy is not advised. Please reach out with any questions as a physician consultation may allow for a colonic to be provided. These include individuals with: Severe cardiac disease (ex. Uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease) Congestive heart failure Aneurysm Severe anemia GI hemorrhage or perforation Severe hemorrhoids Rectal bleeding Severe ulcerative colitis Cirrhosis Fissures or fistulas Diverticulitis Abdominal hernias Recent rectum, abdominal, or colon surgery (less than 12 weeks) Kidney failure or insufficiency Bowel or rectal cancer Advanced Crohn’s disease Advanced ileitis Pregnancy
